Samsung Certified Schools has welcomed GEMS Founders School Al Mizhar into its UAE network, bringing a new AI Lab, educator training and student ambassador opportunities focused on practical digital learning.

DUBAI: Samsung Gulf Electronics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GEMS Founders School Al Mizhar (GFM), marking the school’s entry into the Samsung Certified Schools network in the UAE. The partnership aims to strengthen AI-powered learning by giving students and teachers access to advanced digital tools, training and hands-on innovation opportunities.

As part of the agreement, Samsung will establish a dedicated AI Lab at GFM equipped with Samsung devices designed to support learning in coding, machine learning, artificial intelligence and creative design. The initiative is intended to help students gain practical experience with emerging technologies while encouraging innovation and problem-solving skills.

A key feature of the partnership will see 200 students participate in the Samsung Student Ambassador programme. The initiative is designed to develop digital leadership skills and encourage students to promote responsible technology use within their school communities.

Samsung also plans to invest in teacher development through specialised training. Seventeen educators from GFM will complete the Samsung Certified Educator credential, helping them integrate AI and digital tools into everyday lessons in a meaningful and effective way. The goal is to move beyond basic technology adoption and support deeper classroom engagement.

Jerome Hong, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, said schools across the UAE are increasingly looking to make AI a core part of learning rather than an added feature. He noted that the inclusion of GFM in the Samsung Certified Schools network supports the objectives of the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and reflects growing interest in future-focused education.

Akram Tarik, Principal and CEO of GEMS Founders School Al Mizhar, said the collaboration aligns with the school’s commitment to preparing students for a rapidly changing world where innovation, AI and digital confidence are essential skills.

With GFM becoming the third institution in the Samsung Certified Schools programme after Dubai International Academy and Emirates International School Meadows, Samsung continues to expand its vision for digital education across the UAE.
