A UAE education delegation visited New York to explore educational innovation and boost global cooperation and partnerships.
NEW YORK: A high-level UAE delegation led by the Ministry of Education and the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council (EHRC) has completed a strategic visit to New York City. The aim was to expand international cooperation in education and explore innovative practices to enhance learning outcomes in the UAE.
The delegation included Minister of Education Sarah Al Amiri, EHRC Secretary-General Hajer Al Thehli, and senior officials including representatives from the UAE-based AI education company Next71. Meetings were held with the New York State Education Department, as well as the Office of Religious and Independent School Support and the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Homeschooling.
The visit focused on areas such as alternative education, flexible learning pathways, AI-driven personalised learning, teacher preparation, and educational technologies. Delegates toured institutions known for pioneering models, including The Harlem Children’s Zone, Teachers College at Columbia University, Bank Street College of Education, and Success Academy Charter School.
Minister Al Amiri said the visit reinforces the UAE’s commitment to forging partnerships that translate into practical educational innovations. “We are focused on building scalable and sustainable education systems that enhance the future readiness of our students and teachers,” she said.
Al Thehli emphasised the visit’s role in supporting long-term education development. “We are drawing from global expertise to strengthen our system and align it with the evolving needs of society and the labour market,” she noted.
The UAE team explored governance models, project-based learning, quality assurance, and digital tools that support inclusive and adaptive learning. The initiative reflects the UAE’s ongoing strategy to build a future-ready education system grounded in global collaboration and local impact.
