Miral and Etihad Rail have agreed to develop first-and-last-mile transport linking the future Yas Island passenger station with major leisure and entertainment attractions.

ABU DHABI: Etihad Rail passengers will soon enjoy free shuttle connections to Yas Island’s major attractions following a new partnership between Etihad Rail and Miral.

The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 21, 2026, to improve transport links between Abu Dhabi’s Mohamed bin Zayed City Station and Yas Island.

The agreement will connect passengers to the existing Yas Express shuttle network, making travel to the popular entertainment destination more convenient.

Which attractions will be connected?

Passengers arriving at the railway station will be able to access four major destinations:

  • Ferrari World Yas Island
  • Yas Waterworld Yas Island
  • Warner Bros. World Yas Island
  • SeaWorld Yas Island

The free service aims to simplify journeys between Etihad Rail and Yas Island, reducing the need for taxis and private vehicles.

Yas Express already operates complimentary buses connecting hotels, theme parks and entertainment venues across the island.

Better connectivity for UAE travellers

Miral said the partnership supports Abu Dhabi’s growing tourism sector by improving access to its leading attractions.

Lisa Goswell, Senior Vice President of Sales at Miral Destinations, said the collaboration would create a more integrated travel experience.

Etihad Rail Mobility Executive Director Adhraa Almansoori said the agreement would help passengers combine rail and other transport services.

Both organisations will also explore digital integration to make journey planning more convenient.

The partnership supports the UAE’s wider efforts to encourage sustainable transport and improve connections between cities and leisure destinations.

Impact to expect

Visitors travelling by Etihad Rail could reach Yas Island attractions more easily and save on onward transport costs.

The partnership could also support tourism and reduce dependence on private vehicles.

Authorities have not announced a separate launch date for the expanded shuttle connections.
