ABU DHABI: The UAE Cybersecurity Council is countering over 50,000 cyberattacks daily, preventing threats before they can disrupt critical sectors, according to Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Council.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti emphasised that the UAE’s advanced cybersecurity framework, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), can detect and neutralise threats before they materialise. These attacks target essential services such as electricity, water, healthcare, energy, and banking, all of which rely on digital infrastructure.

“The UAE’s cybersecurity capabilities allow us to predict, identify, and track cyber threats before they occur, following global best practices,” Dr. Al Kuwaiti stated.

He warned that modern conflicts are now fought in cyberspace, where malware, deepfake technology, and misinformation campaigns are being weaponised to manipulate public opinion and destabilise societies. Many of these attacks, he added, are state-sponsored or linked to terrorist organisations.

To bolster national cybersecurity, the UAE’s security operations centre maintains seamless integration with key sectors, ensuring rapid threat detection and response. The country’s robust cyber defences are designed to protect digital infrastructure and prevent disruptions.

During IDEX and NAVDEX 2025, the Cybersecurity Council is conducting simulated cyber exercises with the Ministry of Defence and strategic partners. These exercises focus on countering misinformation, deepfake manipulation, and emerging cyber threats, strengthening the nation’s resilience against evolving digital warfare.
