World: As the world celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8, leaders joined in to share their solidarity for women in the workplace.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Dubai Culture and a member of the Dubai Council,

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Dubai Culture and a member of the Dubai Council, confirmed that International Women’s Day celebrates the crucial role of women in society and their extraordinary contributions, making significant strides in advancing comprehensive development across all fields and leaving an indelible mark on their communities and countries. Her Highness commended the innovative approach taken by the UAE in supporting and empowering women, highlighting the significance of International Women’s Day in the country. She also emphasised that wise leadership underpins the important role that women play and its profound impact on society from an early stage, saying, “Our leadership recognises that empowering women culturally, economically, socially, and politically is pivotal to realising their full potential. The Emirati woman, who is confident and capable, has demonstrated her worth and distinguished presence, serving as a role model for women worldwide. She has reached the highest positions and represented the country with distinction in prominent international forums, contributing to achievements that benefit humanity. Acknowledging women’s most important role in establishing and nurturing families and building society is also essential. As an essential partner in the country’s civilizational renaissance, the Emirati woman today is a pillar of accomplishment driving forward the UAE’s progress, instilling us with pride on the global stage.”

Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare

Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare on the occasion said, “Today’s women are tomorrow’s economic and social powerhouse. If their potential is not recognized and enabled today, any organization or country in the world will be at risk of being left behind in the race for progress. Women today are aware and actively seek out opportunities beyond the household, they are more focused on pursuing higher education, and a career and fulfilling their potential alongside their male counterparts. Currently, the proportion of women with a college degree is nearly 40% as compared to men which stands at 32%. As Mauro F. Guillen has rightly mentioned in his book 2030, late marriages, a limited number of children and longer life-span, are factors which are enabling women to contribute more and for longer to the economy and society. As they live longer, they are more likely to invest in healthcare, lifestyle and education, for themselves and for their families. Considering all the above factors, this year’s International Women’s Day 2023 theme – Embrace Equity, is an important stepping stone to ensure that countries and organisations around the world relook at the ways in which they are leveraging the potential of women, recognise their long-term value and create a level playing field. Proud to say that at Aster, with almost 60% women in our workforce, we are determined to enable this potential for the betterment of the organisation and the society.”

Dalia Mansour, Field Marketing Manager, Middle East & Africa at Sprinklr said, “Today, I am honoured to celebrate International Women’s Day alongside my colleagues and peers worldwide at Sprinklr. This year’s theme, “Embracing Equity” is particularly poignant as we continue to navigate the tech industry, which has historically been led and influenced by men, proving to be a tougher room to break into. As a woman in the field, I believe it is salient that we recognize the immense value that diversity and inclusion bring to our workplace, society as a whole, and the customer experience industry. At Sprinklr, we are committed to creating a culture where all voices are heard and respected, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, or any other dimension of diversity. Looking towards the next generation entering the workplace, it is also vital to adapt the way we look at inclusivity and empowerment, with 60 per cent of Gen Z-ers looking for a balanced and fulfilling environment. Collaborative efforts and initiatives by private organizations, alongside those launched by the Government, prove to be a catalyst in furthering the agenda. For instance, the Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) launched a strategic plan for the next 4 years to guarantee improving standards and opportunities for employment for women across all sectors. On this International Women’s Day, let us celebrate the incredible contributions of women in the region and commit ourselves to create a more equitable and inclusive environment for all to thrive. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for everyone.”
