Sheikh Hamdan launches Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence

Dubai: Advancing its vision of becoming the world’s fastest, most agile, Dubai is a future-ready city, in line with directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Recently, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, launched the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence. This yearly plan aims to utilize technology to enhance quality-of-life outcomes.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that this plan aligns with Sheikh Mohammed’s vision to position Dubai as a global technology and innovation hub. It reflects Dubai’s dedication to employing artificial intelligence for a brighter future across all sectors.

He highlighted Dubai’s remarkable journey in digital transformation since 1999, culminating in the recent Dubai Digital Strategy. Dubai has emerged as a prime destination for tech giants in the region, marking significant milestones.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the need for agile action plans to keep pace with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence. The Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence aims to contribute AED100 billion annually to Dubai’s economy and enhance productivity by 50%.

The plan’s first phase includes appointing a Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer in each government entity, launching AI and Web3 incubators, and introducing AI Week in educational institutions. It also involves streamlining processes for data center land allocation and introducing a new commercial license for artificial intelligence.

Sheikh Hamdan reiterated that the plan’s primary objective is Dubai citizens’ well-being, ensuring continuous updates to keep pace with developments. Dubai aims to be the happiest city globally, leveraging its capabilities for societal betterment.

Dubai’s annual plan for artificial intelligence adoption aims to enhance economic growth, technological innovation, and government efficiency. It seeks to attract global talent and companies, foster a conducive business environment, and position Dubai as a global AI governance leader.

The plan supports Dubai’s D33 Agenda, aiming to boost the economy through digital transformation projects and increase productivity via innovation and digital solutions. Dubai prioritizes fostering an innovation-friendly environment and strengthening its position as a leading global digital economy hub.
