Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed inaugurates 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

Abu Dhabi: Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated the 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) from April 29th to May 5th, 2024, at ADNEC Abu Dhabi.

The fair, a hub for publishers to explore the latest trends, offers networking opportunities and cultural enrichment for enthusiasts. Reflecting Abu Dhabi’s global role in publishing, it hosts 1,350 publishers from 90 countries under the theme “Where the World’s Tales Unfold.”

His Highness toured the fair, engaging with exhibitors and exploring publications. Accompanied by dignitaries, including Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Sheikh Salem Al Qassimi, and Neveen El Kilany, he visited pavilions celebrating Egypt and renowned author Naguib Mahfouz.

ADIBF features diverse activities, including the Saudi podcast Thmanyah platform, Arts Corner, and cultural programs for youth. It introduces the Book of the World corner, spotlighting influential literature like Kalila wa Dimna.

ADIBF reinforces Abu Dhabi’s cultural prominence, supporting the global publishing sector and promoting Arabic language and culture. With 145 new exhibitors and 12 new countries participating, it fosters international dialogue and cultural exchange.

The fair’s rich program includes workshops, musical performances, and culinary presentations, catering to all ages and interests. Celebrating Naguib Mahfouz and Egypt, Abu Dhabi International Book Fair highlights their contributions to Arab culture and literature.
