UAE Cybersecurity Council highlights growing AI-powered fraud UAE threats under Cyber Pulse, urging digital awareness and personal cyber vigilance
ABU DHABI: The UAE Cybersecurity Council has issued a timely warning on the increasing threat of AI-powered fraud UAE, as artificial intelligence continues to reshape the tactics used by cybercriminals. In its weekly message under the national “Cyber Pulse” awareness campaign, the Council called on all residents and organisations to remain alert against highly convincing scams and digital deception powered by artificial intelligence.
The Council noted that AI-powered fraud UAE presents new challenges because of its ability to mimic official voices, logos, and messages with near-perfect accuracy. Phishing messages are now crafted using AI tools that eliminate typical errors, making them look authentic and difficult to spot. As a result, over 90 percent of digital breaches now involve some form of AI-enhanced phishing, according to the Council.
Among the most concerning trends are synthetic identities, legitimate-looking but fake advertisements, and urgent prompts for users to click unverified links or share personal information. These methods have become more sophisticated and scalable, allowing scammers to launch widespread fraud operations in seconds. The Council warned that people must be especially cautious of social media content and promotional offers that seem too perfect or realistic.
The Council also advised practical steps for online safety, including enabling multi-factor authentication, using security software, and verifying information only through trusted platforms. Building strong cyber awareness is essential, the Council said, as the first line of defence against evolving fraud strategies driven by AI.
The “Cyber Pulse” campaign, now in its second year, forms part of the UAE’s national strategy to strengthen digital safety and cybersecurity culture. It promotes daily online safety habits, encourages families and businesses to understand new threats, and aligns with the nation’s broader digital trust and privacy goals.
As AI capabilities grow, so does the need for education and vigilance. The UAE Cybersecurity Council urged every user to recognise how AI-powered tools can be manipulated and to take active steps to protect their digital presence.
