HATTA: The Hatta Winter Festival is back, and this year it’s shining a spotlight on Emirati creativity and culture. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Brand Dubai Store, part of the Government of Dubai Media Office, takes centre stage at the festival.
Showcasing over 20 stunning artworks by talented Emirati women artists, the store displays creations from Reem Almarri, Wdeema BinTouq, Arwa Alshamsi, and others. These works, reflecting Dubai’s charm and Hatta’s natural beauty, are featured on exclusive products at the store.
The artists employ various techniques like embroidery, digital art, and hand-drawn methods such as pencil, ink, and paint, capturing both tradition and modernity in their pieces. The initiative supports Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of making Dubai an “open-air museum.”
Set against the scenic backdrop of Leem Lake, surrounded by Hatta’s majestic mountains, the festival forms part of the larger Hatta Winter 2024 initiative. This programme includes five unique festivals — Hatta Winter Festival, Hatta Cultural Nights, Hatta Honey Festival, Hatta Agricultural Festival, and Hatta x DSF — running from December 13, 2024, to January 22, 2025.
Beyond art, the Hatta Winter Festival offers 120 creative workshops focused on Hatta’s rich cultural heritage. Adventure enthusiasts and families can also enjoy sports, educational activities, and entertainment.
With support from key partners like Dubai Municipality, RTA, and Dubai Culture, visitors can access seamless transport to Hatta. The RTA offers 14 daily bus trips and 17 internal shuttles to popular spots like Hatta Dam, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Running until January 12, 2025, the Hatta Winter Festival offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to immerse in Hatta’s natural beauty and the creative spirit of Emirati artists.
