RIYADH: Riyadh has unveiled the “Riyadh Creative District,” a dynamic initiative designed to transform the city into a global hub for creativity, media, and innovation. Led by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), this new district aims to foster collaboration among creative professionals, industry leaders, and emerging talents to drive cultural and technological growth.
The district is part of Riyadh’s broader strategy to diversify the economy and enhance its global competitiveness. It aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by promoting the role of media, technology, culture, and innovation in economic development. As a cornerstone of the capital’s growth, the district will help create a thriving ecosystem for businesses and creatives to thrive, contributing to the nation’s GDP and promoting sustainable growth.
The project received support from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Eng. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Sultan, CEO of RCRC, praised their ongoing support for such initiatives. “The Riyadh Creative District will be a vital extension of the capital’s cultural and economic landscape,” he said. “It will offer a space for creative industries to flourish and provide opportunities for global talent to engage with Saudi Arabia’s creative economy.”
A significant milestone for the district was the signing of a strategic partnership between RCRC and KAFD, which ensures effective implementation. This partnership will encourage innovation across various sectors, bridging local and international expertise.
In line with Saudi Vision 2030, the district will promote sustainable urban development and integrate smart technology to offer a platform for creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators. This initiative will position Riyadh as a key player in the creative economy, attracting investments, offering new employment opportunities, and driving digital transformation.
