The first-ever Ajman Folklore Festival, themed “Ajman…embracing history and identity,” is scheduled from April 19 to 21. This collaborative effort between the Ministry of Culture, Ajman Department of Tourism Development, Rewaq Ousha Bint Hussein Cultural Center, and MTG Events aims to enrich cultural awareness in Ajman.

Announced during a press conference by Rewaq Ousha Bint Hussein Cultural Center, Dr. Mouza Ghubash, festival president, expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Culture and Ajman Department of Tourism Development’s support. She highlighted the festival’s role in showcasing Ajman’s cultural richness to youth, preserving cultural identities, and fostering peace through cultural exchange.

The festival offers a dynamic platform for youth to explore folk heritage through artistic displays and performances. By incorporating regional and global heritage, it promotes cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and appreciation for diversity.

With a focus on Ajman’s ancient heritage, the festival preserves Emirati identity, passing it down to younger generations. It aligns with Ajman Vision 2030’s goal of promoting cultural interaction and exchange.

The festival features a diverse program including concerts, folkloric performances, workshops, art exhibitions, culinary delights, and competitions. Emirati folklore activities, Arab folk dance performances, and international showcases make up the festival’s vibrant lineup.

On the inaugural day, Emirati folklore activities and workshops on traditional arts will be featured. The second day highlights Arab folklore with performances, workshops, and a concert by the Syrian folkloric band Takat. The third day showcases international folk dances, an exhibition of international folklore costumes, and activities like Chinese teaching workshops.

In essence, the Ajman Folklore Festival offers a platform to celebrate cultural diversity, preserve heritage, and promote peaceful coexistence through shared experiences.
