Elon Musk isn’t a happy camper with his new Windows laptop. He’s taken to Twitter, poking Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, about the issue. Musk’s gripe? He doesn’t want to create a Microsoft account just to use his laptop.

In a tweet, Musk spilled the beans about his laptop woes. He’s not keen on handing over the reins to Microsoft’s AI by setting up an account. He remembers the good old days when you could skip this step. But now? Nope, not an option.

It’s not just a one-off rant either. Musk even mentioned a feature called Community Notes that supposedly says you can set up Windows without the dreaded Microsoft account. However, when Musk tried it, nada. The option seemed to have vanished.

But Musk being Musk, he didn’t just stop at venting. He got his followers involved. Some came to his rescue with workarounds, while others just suggested he “buy Microsoft” if he’s got issues.

This tiff with Microsoft isn’t Musk’s first rodeo. Last year, he accused Microsoft of having too much sway over OpenAI, a company he co-founded. He felt that Microsoft’s investments turned OpenAI into something he hadn’t envisioned – a profit-chasing entity.

In a tweet, Musk lamented how OpenAI, once an open-source and nonprofit venture, now seemed more like a Microsoft puppet. He felt it had strayed far from his original intentions.

Just a quick refresher for those not in the loop: Elon Musk was one of the brains behind OpenAI. However, he stepped away from it back in 2018 and has since cut ties with the company.
