UAE declares three-day weekend holiday for both public and private sectors

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Monday, 1 January 2024, will be an official paid holiday for UAE workers in the private sector on New Year’s Day.
The decision is in line with the UAE Cabinet Resolution regarding approved public holidays for the government and private sectors. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced the first day of the New Year a holiday in a post on its official Instagram.
As the festive season gets underway, hundreds of thousands of travellers are expected to take to the skies through Dubai airport to reunite with family and loved ones, indulge in holiday getaways or explore exciting new destinations. The three-day long weekend will be the perfect excuse for expats to visit their home countries and for tourists to visit UAE.
The Sharjah Department of Human Resources has also declared Monday, January 1 2024, an official holiday for Sharjah government entities on the New Year. Official work will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
