ABU DHABI: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory forecast, cautioning residents about potential dust storms and rainfall from Wednesday through Friday.

A surface low-pressure system from the east, coupled with an upper-air low-pressure system and jet stream from the west, is expected to trigger cloud formation across various regions, the NCM reported today.

From late Wednesday night, cloud cover will increase over western areas and gradually spread to coastal regions, islands, and northern and eastern parts of the country. Rainfall is likely on Thursday, with clouds diminishing by Friday noon, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures.

The sea conditions will also be challenging, with rough to very rough waves anticipated in the Arabian Gulf on Thursday and Friday, while the Oman Sea will experience moderate to rough conditions.

Winds will shift from southeasterly to northeasterly and later to northwesterly, ranging from moderate to active, occasionally reaching strong speeds, particularly over the sea. These winds are expected to stir up dust and sand, reducing visibility in some areas.
