Alert: Fuel prices in UAE for March 2023

UAE: UAE fuel price committee today announced petrol and diesel prices for the month of March 2023.

Starting March 1, 2023 Super 98 petrol will cost AED3.09 a litre, compared to AED3.05 in February.

Special 95 petrol will cost AED2.97 per litre, compared to AED2.93 in February.

E-Plus 91 petrol will cost AED2.90 a litre, compared to AED2.86 in February.

Diesel will be charged at AED3.14 a litre compared to AED3.38 in February.

In January 2023, there was a price hike to reflect the increased price of oil internationally.

In 2022, UAE petrol prices went above AED4 for the first time in June.

And they reached an all-time high in July, with Super 98 costing AED4.63 per litre.

Fuel prices in the country were liberalised in 2015, with local rates being aligned with global oil prices.

For the past seven years, the fuel price committee has met on a monthly basis to announce revised rates.

About the Deregulation of fuel prices

Fuel prices across the UAE were deregulated in August 2015, as the government has adopted a new policy linked to global prices. The Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure and the Ministry of Finance would act as the government’s representatives in a committee set up to review fuel prices in the UAE every month.

The decision corresponds to the UAE’s efforts to ensure sustainable development while preserving the environment, achieving a balance between economic and social development and providing a high quality of life for future generations.
