UAE President reviews innovative sustainability initiatives, environmental proposals on World Environment Day

Abu Dhabi: On World Environment Day, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed several environmental initiatives and pioneering ideas that aim to strengthen the UAE’s sustainability efforts and preserve natural resources by encouraging innovation.

During a reception at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, His Highness met with entrepreneurs, youth, and officials working on innovative environmental conservation and sustainability projects. They explained the significance of their initiatives, potential for large-scale development, and the results achieved so far.

His Highness praised these innovative solutions for raising awareness about the need to preserve environmental resources and build a more sustainable future. He noted that such initiatives, whether in the UAE or globally, inspire efforts to protect the environment from ongoing challenges.

He emphasized the UAE’s commitment to benefiting from all contributions and initiatives while promoting a better understanding of the role of individuals and communities in addressing climate change. Preserving the environment and its resources is a collective responsibility, both locally and globally.

His Highness highlighted the UAE’s ongoing cooperation with international partners to achieve sustainability goals. He mentioned the activation of the historic UAE Consensus, which emerged from the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28). This consensus focuses on implementing effective environment sustainability programs and initiatives to shape a better future for everyone worldwide.
