Yango Power UAE lets users rent portable chargers directly through the Yango SuperApp, using Ray’s network across the Emirates.

DUBAI: Yango Group has launched a new portable charger rental service in the Emirates, allowing users to access a powerbank directly through its SuperApp. Launched on October 7, 2026, Yango Power UAE connects customers to nearly 600 partner charging stations across shopping malls, restaurants, cafés, fitness venues and other public locations.

The service has been introduced in partnership with powerbank-sharing company Ray and is designed to remove the need for users to download a separate application or create another account.

How the new powerbank rental works

Users can open the latest version of the Yango app, scan the QR code displayed at a participating Ray station and pay using the payment details already linked to their Yango account.

According to the companies, the rental process can take less than eight seconds. Once collected, the portable charger can be used on the move and returned to a compatible station within Ray’s UAE network.

The integration is particularly aimed at users who depend on their phones for navigation, digital payments, ride bookings, communication and other everyday services.

Nearly 600 charging locations across the UAE

Yango Power UAE builds on Ray’s existing network of charging stations across the country. Locations have been placed in areas where users are likely to spend time, including dining, retail and fitness destinations.

Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East, said the service was designed to make access to charging as straightforward as other services already available through the company’s app.

The addition expands Yango’s existing urban services ecosystem in the region, which includes ride-hailing, delivery, navigation, public transport information and car rental.

Why Yango is adding charging to its SuperApp

Rather than launching a standalone charging platform, the partnership integrates Ray’s infrastructure directly into an app already used for other daily services.

Ray says its technology platform allows partner companies to connect their applications directly with its charging stations. Its infrastructure currently supports powerbank-sharing operations under multiple brands across nine countries.

The Yango Power UAE launch also arrives as shared charging services continue to expand globally, particularly in cities where smartphones are increasingly central to transport, payments and day-to-day communication.

Yango Group says it plans to introduce the service in additional markets where its wider ecosystem operates.

The service is now available to UAE users through the latest version of the Yango app.

Impact to expect

The launch could make on-demand charging more accessible across the UAE while encouraging wider adoption of shared powerbanks by integrating rentals into an app customers already use for transport, navigation and delivery.
