Abu Dhabi: This week, the UAE braces for another bout of inclement weather, as official forecasts predict further rainfall, hail, and strong winds across the region.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reports that the UAE will experience the effects of a surface low pressure system extending from the Red Sea, accompanied by humid Southeasterly winds, starting from Wednesday evening through Thursday.

From Sunday to Wednesday daytime: Expect the formation of local convective rainy clouds, with a chance of hail primarily over Eastern areas, extending to some internal and Western regions.

From Wednesday evening to Thursday, the country will be influenced by the extension of a surface low pressure system from the Red Sea, accompanied by moist Southeasterly winds. Concurrently, a low pressure system from the Northwest and upper-level atmospheric flow will bring various cloud types, including convective clouds associated with moderate to heavy rainfall in scattered areas. Lightning, thunder, and hail are probable, starting from the West on Wednesday night and spreading across most areas by Thursday, particularly in western, coastal, and some Eastern regions.

On Friday and Saturday a cloud cover is expected to diminish gradually, with a chance of light to moderate rainfall, potentially heavy in some Southern and Eastern areas.

The forecast also warns of moderate to fresh Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, occasionally strong, especially in the presence of convective clouds. These conditions may lead to blowing dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility.

Regarding maritime conditions, moderate to rough seas are anticipated, particularly with cloud cover in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

As the UAE prepares for this week’s weather events, residents and travelers are advised to stay informed about updates from official sources and to exercise caution when venturing outdoors, especially in areas prone to flooding or reduced visibility.
