The UAE has delivered 260 tonnes of urgent food supplies to Gaza via land convoys, while concurrently activating a new humanitarian air bridge to send critical winter relief

DUBAI: The UAE has stepped up humanitarian assistance to Gaza with a new air bridge and two aid convoys carrying 260 tonnes of food. The latest operations aim to deliver essential supplies to Palestinian families ahead of winter.

Dubai Humanitarian launched the air bridge on October 23 under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The first flight delivered essential supplies and thermal blankets for UNICEF to Al Arish in Egypt.

New Air Bridge to Deliver Winter Supplies

The Dubai Royal Air Wing will operate several flights using C-130 aircraft. Each aircraft can transport approximately nine tonnes of humanitarian supplies. At least three additional flights are planned to deliver blankets for children and vulnerable families.

Dubai Humanitarian is coordinating the operation with international partners to support faster delivery. The first shipment also marks the launch of coordinated sourcing under the United Nations’ UN80 Integrated Supply Chain Approach.

UAE Sends 260 Tonnes of Food Aid

Meanwhile, two UAE humanitarian convoys entered Gaza under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. The convoys included 10 trucks carrying 260 tonnes of food supplies.

The latest deliveries bring the total number of trucks entering Gaza under the operation to 14,594. Together, they have transported 138,290 tonnes of humanitarian assistance.

The UAE Humanitarian Aid Logistics Centre in Al Arish continues to receive, sort and prepare supplies before dispatching them to Gaza.

Impact to Expect

The new air bridge will provide winter essentials, while the latest food convoys will support families facing shortages. Continued air and land deliveries are expected to strengthen relief efforts and help vulnerable communities access essential supplies.
