DUBAI: The HYBRDX fitness challenge is set to make its debut at Kite Beach from January 15 to 17, 2027, bringing a new competition combining running, strength and endurance to Dubai. Created by XDubai, the three-day event aims to attract 3,500 participants and will offer an AED 1 million prize pool.

Developed with Dubai Sports Council as strategic partner, the homegrown competition is designed for experienced athletes, fitness enthusiasts and first-time competitors.

Organisers describe the prize pool as the third-largest worldwide in the hybrid fitness category.

What is the HYBRDX competition format?

Participants will complete eight 800-metre runs, each followed by a functional fitness workout station.

The eight stations include BikeErg, kettlebell deadlifts, sled push and drag, SkiErg, wall balls, rowing, goblet lunges and line-facing burpees.

The format combines cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and functional movement, testing participants across different physical disciplines.

Eight founding athletes from Dubai’s fitness community have helped shape the competition, including Jake Hendry, Jamie Greene, Yousef Al Gurg and Amal Murad.

How much does HYBRDX registration cost?

Registration is open across several categories, with no qualification required for Elite, Everyday and Juniors.

  • Elite and Everyday Solo: AED 399 per participant.
  • Elite and Everyday Doubles: AED 798 per team.
  • Juniors Doubles: AED 500 per team, for participants aged 14 to 16.
  • Invitational: Reserved for invited athletes.

The AED 1 million prize money will be shared exclusively between the Invitational and Elite categories, subject to official competition rules.

Participants can register through the official website, hybrdx.ae.
