The UAE confirmed Danalac infant formula is not registered or officially imported and found no evidence of widespread circulation locally.
ABU DHABI: The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has confirmed that Danalac infant formula is not registered in the country and has not entered the UAE through official import channels. The clarification was issued in coordination with the Emirates Drug Establishment and relevant regulatory authorities following public attention surrounding the product.
Officials stated there is currently no evidence showing widespread circulation of Danalac infant formula across UAE markets. Authorities added that monitoring efforts are continuing to ensure consumer safety and compliance with national food and health regulations.
The ministry said regulatory agencies remain closely coordinated on monitoring imported food and healthcare-related products, particularly items linked to infant nutrition and child wellbeing. Officials stressed that only approved and officially registered products are permitted for legal distribution and sale within the UAE.
The statement also aimed to reassure consumers and families that authorities continue maintaining strict oversight of products entering local supply chains. Regulatory bodies regularly inspect food imports, retail outlets and distribution channels to ensure products meet approved safety and quality standards before reaching consumers.
The UAE has strengthened monitoring systems in recent years to improve food safety standards and enhance public confidence in healthcare and nutrition products available across the country. Authorities frequently issue updates and advisories whenever concerns emerge regarding unregistered or non-compliant goods.
Healthcare experts say parents should always verify whether infant nutrition products are approved by official authorities before purchasing them. Specialists also recommend buying baby formula and related products only from licensed pharmacies, supermarkets and recognised retail distributors.
The latest statement regarding Danalac infant formula highlights the UAE’s broader focus on consumer protection and preventive public health measures. Officials encouraged residents to report suspicious or unregistered products through official consumer protection and food safety channels if concerns arise.
Authorities have not announced any recalls or enforcement actions linked to the product and reiterated that there is no indication of widespread market presence inside the UAE at this stage.
