Arabian Travel Market 2026 has opened in Dubai, bringing the global tourism industry together as AI, technology and changing traveller habits reshape the sector.
DUBAI: Arabian Travel Market 2026 opened at Dubai World Trade Centre on Monday, September 14, bringing tourism leaders, airlines, hotels, destinations and technology companies together as artificial intelligence and changing traveller expectations transform the global travel industry.
The 33rd edition of the major travel trade event runs until September 17, providing four days of business meetings, networking, industry discussions and technology showcases.
Why is AI a major focus this year?
Technology is taking a bigger role at this year’s event through ATM Travel Tech, a dedicated co-located show featuring more than 180 exhibitors from 30 countries.
An 850-square-metre Tech & Innovation Hub will explore artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, fintech and green technologies. Sessions will also examine automation, digital transformation and the next generation of travel platforms.
The wider theme for Arabian Travel Market 2026 is “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology”, reflecting the industry’s growing focus on how emerging tools could change everything from holiday planning to hotel operations.
AI is already influencing how travellers search for destinations, compare prices and build itineraries. The technology is also giving tourism businesses new ways to personalise services and understand customer behaviour.

How are traveller habits changing?
Technology is only part of the story.
Travel businesses are also responding to customers who are booking differently and expecting greater flexibility. Recent disruption has shortened some booking windows, while hotels and travel companies are working harder to convert traveller interest into confirmed reservations.
Research and industry discussions at the event are expected to explore changing travel demand, destination resilience and the ways businesses can respond to new consumer expectations.
Arabian Travel Market 2026 will also provide a platform for tourism authorities and companies to strengthen commercial partnerships as the industry looks towards longer-term growth.

Why does ATM matter for Dubai?
Hosting the event reinforces Dubai’s position as a meeting point for the international tourism and aviation industries.
Dubai welcomed 19.6 million international visitors in 2025, while its extensive aviation network continues to connect travellers across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
For Dubai, the event also provides an opportunity to showcase its tourism strategy while bringing international travel buyers and decision-makers directly to the city.
As technology becomes increasingly important across tourism, Arabian Travel Market 2026 offers an early look at how AI, automation and changing consumer behaviour could influence the journeys people take over the coming years.
Impact to expect
Innovation. ATM could accelerate the adoption of AI and smarter travel technology while helping Dubai strengthen its role as a global tourism and business hub.
