Dubai Police All-Women SWAT Team gears up for the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024

The Dubai Police Women’s Team is all set for the 2024 Emirates Tactical Teams Challenge happening from February 3rd to 7th at the Al Ruwayyah training facility. This follows their success in the previous year’s challenge.
During their first appearance in the 2023 UAE SWAT Challenge, the Dubai Police All-women team secured an impressive tenth position out of 55 teams worldwide. They received high praise from international SWAT leaders for their excellent performance and advanced training methods.
Lieutenant Yasser Al Zarouni, the team’s manager, expressed the team’s readiness for the upcoming challenge, in line with the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.
“This is the team’s second challenge, and we expect a more intense competition with global participation from Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, Latin America, and the United States,” mentioned Al Zarouni.
The team comprises eight highly-trained women who have undergone specialized training in tactical shooting, breaching, sniping, and endurance. This prepares them for complex tasks and international championships.
Lieutenant Afraa Al Naemi, a team member, assured their readiness for the fifth edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge. She highlighted the team’s commitment and readiness to face the five challenges, building on the positive outcomes of the previous year.
Al Naemi emphasized that their initial experience in the UAE SWAT Challenge significantly contributed to the team’s growth, providing insights into global tactical team operations and the latest practices in rapid intervention and special operations.
“The team gained valuable insights into their efficiency and readiness to handle diverse challenges in the contest, including hostage rescue, assault challenges, officer rescue missions, and high tower navigation,” she explained. The Dubai Police Women’s Team is poised for another exciting and challenging competition, building on their past successes and experiences.
