Dubai extends remote work and learning on Wednesday April 17 due to ongoing rain

Dubai: Due to ongoing heavy rain in the UAE, Dubai authorities have extended remote learning and work for schools and offices in the city. A government statement confirmed that all entities would continue remote operations on Wednesday, April 17.

Weather forecasters predict continued rainfall across the country on Wednesday, prompting authorities to take precautions to ensure the safety of individuals and property.

In addition to government entities, private schools will transition to remote learning, while private sector employers are encouraged to implement remote-work arrangements on April 17th.

The government official X channel posted: “The Government of #Dubai has extended remote working for employees of all its entities until Wednesday, April 17, due to weather conditions. Private schools in Dubai have also been directed to continue remote learning tomorrow. Private sector entities are urged to adopt remote working tomorrow and take all measures necessary to ensure everyone’s safety.”

Even the KHDA statement posted on their social channel the following message: “In light of prevailing weather conditions and keeping in mind the safety of students and staff, Dubai private schools, nurseries, and universities must continue to offer distance learning on Wednesday, April 17.”
