Abu Dhabi: The World Future Energy Summit 2024, organized by Masdar, commences at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This three-day event, marking its 16th edition, places significant emphasis on advancing the goals established at COP28 in Dubai last November, focusing on future energy and sustainability.

The Summit boasts its most extensive knowledge-sharing program to date, with over 350 leading international experts, policymakers, academics, and influencers from the energy sector participating. Through five conferences and three forums, they will explore strategies to navigate COP28’s frameworks, addressing technology, policy changes, and evolving economics.

Leen AlSebai, General Manager of RX Middle East and Head of the World Future Energy Summit, highlighted the event’s theme, “The Energy To Lead,” underscoring its role as a global think tank. The Summit aims to showcase innovative solutions and underscore the UAE’s commitment to sustainability and environmental cooperation.

Six conferences will delve into Solar, EcoWaste, Water, Clean Energy, Smart Cities, and Climate & Environment, alongside a dedicated “Pathway to 1.5C” forum focused on COP28 outcomes. Additionally, forums on Green Finance and e-Mobility will be featured.

The speaker lineup includes policymakers, scientists, financiers, business leaders, digital innovators, and climate change advocates. They will discuss topics such as unlocking investment for climate finance, private sector engagement, carbon integration into decision-making, and renewable energy expansion.

The Solar & Clean Energy Conference will feature high-level officials from the UAE Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, including H.E. Eng Sharif Al Olama and H.E. Ahmed Alkaabi.

This year’s program emphasizes female participation, with women speakers contributing diverse perspectives on climate change, sustainable tourism, smart cities, and more. It includes a panel discussion on female entrepreneurs driving decarbonization innovation and showcases initiatives like the Climate Innovations Exchange (CLIX) for startups led by women.
