Kalimat Group unveiled ‘Sarab’, a new imprint of high-quality art books celebrating Arab culture and heritage at SIBF 2025.

SHARJAH: At the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2025), Kalimat Group announced the launch of Sarab — a new publishing imprint dedicated to preserving and celebrating the artistic and cultural identity of the Arab world. With its focus on visually immersive, large-format art books, Sarab marks a bold expansion in the group’s mission to honour regional creativity through powerful storytelling.

Named after the Arabic word for “mirage”, Sarab captures the poetic tension between memory and modernity, illusion and reality — all elements that shape the Arab aesthetic. Each title is a curated blend of evocative photography and rich narrative, offering readers a contemporary gateway to explore the region’s past and evolving identity.

The imprint’s debut collection features titles spotlighting Sharjah’s transformation through the lens of architecture, history, and culture. These include Sharjah from the Sky, developed with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority; Sharjah Libraries – A Century of Knowledge, tracing the growth of Sharjah’s library movement since 1925; Mleiha – Ancient Treasures of the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority; and Mosques of Sharjah, celebrating Islamic architecture with the support of the Department of Islamic Affairs.

Through Sarab art books, Kalimat Group extends its influence beyond traditional publishing by offering visual literature that preserves and reinterprets Arab heritage. “This is a new chapter in our journey — where images and narratives come together to honour identity,” said a Kalimat representative.

With Sarab, Kalimat reaffirms its commitment to documenting the Arab world’s creative legacy — making culture both collectible and globally accessible.
