The India-UAE investment corridor presents new opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors and businesses seeking international expansion. Piyush Jhunjhunwala, Founder and CEO of Stockify, explains why strategic connections, investment readiness and sustainable business models matter more than networking alone.
India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are strengthening their economic partnership, creating new opportunities for businesses to expand into international markets, connect with potential investors and establish long-term strategic relationships. Bilateral trade reached approximately $101.25 billion in the financial year 2025–26, compared with $100.05 billion in 2024–25. Both countries aim to double bilateral trade to $200 billion by 2032, reflecting the growing importance of their economic relationship.
For Indian companies seeking international expansion, the UAE provides access to a broader business community, established investment networks and potential strategic partners. The relationship extends well beyond trade. According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE foreign direct investment (FDI) equity inflows into India amounted to approximately $2.74 billion in FY 2025–26. However, successful business expansion requires more than access to capital.
Business networking and investment platforms play an important role in connecting promising startups and established companies with potential investors. These platforms enable entrepreneurs to present their growth strategies, explore strategic partnerships and better understand investor expectations. At the same time, investors can evaluate emerging business models and identify opportunities across different industries. As India and the UAE work towards their $200 billion bilateral trade target, such platforms can help translate economic ambitions into practical commercial opportunities.
However, building successful partnerships requires thorough evaluation and careful planning. Investors must assess business models, financial performance, scalability and potential risks, while entrepreneurs need to demonstrate clear growth strategies and sustainable paths to profitability. Networking can open doors, but strong business fundamentals, relevant expertise and complementary resources are essential for establishing lasting commercial relationships.
Similarly, cross-border investment and international partnerships require a clear understanding of local market conditions, customer preferences and regulatory requirements. Although trade agreements and investment frameworks can facilitate market access, businesses must independently assess the commercial viability of each opportunity before committing resources.
Ultimately, the India-UAE investment corridor offers significant potential to strengthen commercial relationships, attract investment and support international business expansion. As bilateral trade grows and economic cooperation deepens, initiatives such as the IPF Innovators & Investors Series can play a valuable role in connecting entrepreneurs with investors and transforming business introductions into meaningful strategic partnerships. By focusing on long-term value creation, these collaborations can contribute to sustainable business growth in both countries.
