DUBAI: The much-anticipated Hatta Winter 2024 sports activities kick off on Monday, 23 December, with a unique football tournament by Hatta Adventures in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council. Running until 29 December, the tournament takes place against the stunning backdrop of Leem Lake in the Hatta Mountains.

Unique Football Tournament

The opening event features an innovative eight-team football tournament in a dynamic league format. Divided into two groups, teams will play three matches before advancing to the knockout semi-finals. Special rules like penalties for long-range shots or ball lifting ensure action-packed gameplay, with fast-paced 10-minute halves and quick five-minute breaks.

This inclusive competition allows one UAE club player per team, fostering fairness and creativity. It’s not just about winning—it’s about showcasing strategy, skill, and community spirit.

Beyond football, Hatta Winter 2024 offers a variety of sports activities, including mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. These experiences enable visitors to immerse themselves in Hatta’s breathtaking landscapes while promoting an active lifestyle.

Held on a sprawling three-hectare site surrounded by the picturesque Hatta Mountains, the initiative aims to attract families, adventurers, and sports enthusiasts. Organised under the Supreme Committee to Oversee the Development of Hatta and executed by Brand Dubai, the event promotes Hatta’s cultural and recreational assets while supporting sustainable tourism.
