Dancers dazzles Expo 2020 visitors!

DUBAI: Twelve drones will fly autonomously to a pre-set choreography, sometimes taking human form, in a duet between human consciousness and technology in ‘Airman,’ a show by the Netherlands-based dance troupe, Another Kind of Blue. The troupe won worldwide admiration, with spots in the finals of both America and Britain’s Got Talent and now, they will perform at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Part of their attraction is the combination of music and dance, of independently moving dancers and seemingly independently moving drones. The troupe, under the supervision of David Middendorp, posed a deeper question: Do these drones possess free will? The result is an emotional choreography with routines that amazed audiences.

The group gave ten-minute performances during Netherlands’ National Day at the Expo 2020.
