DUBAI: In an unexpected move, Dubai-based siblings Jainam and Jivika announced they’re ready to hand over the domain jiohotstar.com to Reliance Industries for free, clarifying recent speculation surrounding their intentions. According to their statement, they originally bought the domain from a young Delhi-based developer, aiming to help fund his education and support his aspirations.
Over the past few months, Jainam and Jivika received several offers to buy the domain, with some offering substantial sums. They checked the legitimacy of these offers and responded to all, emphasizing they were not interested in selling. However, public curiosity and media buzz grew as people speculated about a potential business collaboration between Jio and Hotstar. In their statement, the siblings stressed they never anticipated this attention and clarified their only motive was to support the developer and promote their mission of seva (selfless service).
To end the speculation, Jainam and Jivika decided to offer the domain to Reliance for free, should the company be interested. “We are happy to give jiohotstar.com to them for free, with all the proper paperwork,” the siblings said, emphasizing that this decision was made independently, without any influence from Reliance or outside pressure.

Jainam and Jivika also used this opportunity to highlight their platform, SevakArmy.com, aimed at rallying 100,000 volunteers for community service. They hope to inspire people to donate 20 hours per year, which would collectively amount to an impressive 2 million hours of volunteer service annually—a vision that equates to the impact of 1,000 full-time workers supporting NGOs.
They encouraged influencers and media to share their message and vision. Interested parties from Reliance can reach them at the provided contact emails for a smooth domain transfer.
