Zayed Charity Run – Miami 2026 begins January 31, uniting global runners and supporting kidney health through a US$20,000 prize pool.
MIAMI: The 18th edition of the Zayed Charity Run is set to debut in Miami on January 31, launching the first international leg of the initiative in 2026. The 5-kilometre race will start at Miami City Hall and conclude at Regatta Park, drawing wide community participation across age groups and nationalities.
Inspired by the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the run reflects the UAE’s ongoing global commitment to philanthropy. For the first time, a UAE runners’ delegation will join the Miami race, featuring 100 male and 50 female participants, underscoring the nation’s expanding presence in international charity-led sporting events.
The total US$20,000 prize pool includes US$5,000 for first place, US$2,500 for second, and US$1,500 for third, along with various raffle prizes, creating a vibrant and competitive environment for runners. The event proceeds will go to the National Kidney Foundation of Florida, supporting vital healthcare services and outcomes for kidney patients.
Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, stated that Miami’s inclusion represents a strategic milestone in the global journey of the Zayed Charity Run, which combines sports and social responsibility. The next international edition is scheduled for May in Budapest, Hungary, as part of the run’s expanding global reach.
Since its inception, the run has grown into a global humanitarian model, promoting health awareness and cross-cultural connection. It continues to reflect the UAE’s enduring message of compassion and unity while placing communities at the centre of its mission.
