Riyadh: Qiddiya City is set to house an innovative new racetrack aiming to propel Saudi Arabia to the forefront of motorsport by establishing itself as a premier venue worldwide.

Nestled in the heart of Qiddiya City, the versatile Speed Park Track merges functionality, cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled customer experience. It is poised to host a prestigious lineup of top racing events globally, as per a press release by the company.

Featuring some of motorsport’s most iconic track design elements, the centerpiece of the track is the groundbreaking “Blade” at turn one – an impressive elevated section rising over 20 stories above ground level.

Abdullah Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, expressed excitement about the launch, stating that the Speed Park Track embodies Qiddiya’s philosophy of play and positions Qiddiya City as a hub for Saudi motorsport and a global motorsport destination.

Designed by former Formula One driver Alex Wurz and circuit designer Hermann Tilke, the dynamic track offers a thrilling experience for drivers, boasting 21 corners and utilizing Qiddiya City’s natural landscape to create over 108 meters of elevation change per lap.

The Speed Park Track offers various configurations, including a street circuit section and a fast open track section, seamlessly integrated with neighboring attractions within Qiddiya, fostering a blend of entertainment, sports, and culture.

Spectators can anticipate an exhilarating race experience with multiple viewing points and terraces positioned along and within the track. The surrounding area will feature adrenaline-fueled attractions, events, and experiences, merging the excitement of motorsports with cultural and entertainment offerings.

To enhance the overall experience, the track will be intricately linked with neighboring attractions, such as a music venue beneath the “Blade” turn and sections running alongside Falcon’s flight, the world’s tallest rollercoaster located at Six Flags Qiddiya City.

Qiddiya’s emphasis on play aligns with research demonstrating the importance of recreational activities for human development and societal well-being. The unveiling of the track follows recent announcements regarding the Qiddiya Gaming & esports District and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, with more updates anticipated in the coming weeks.
