Tourist loses AED 76,000 in Dubai, but the police find it in 30 minutes

Dubai Police quickly returned AED 76,000 to a tourist within 30 minutes. The tourist left the money in a taxi after celebrating New Year’s Eve. The police promptly responded to the report made through the Dubai Police app. They located the taxi, contacted the driver, and recovered the money pouch within a short time.

This swift action aligns with Dubai Police’s commitment, guided by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, to ensure the community’s safety and well-being. The tourist, grateful for the quick response, thanked Dubai Police for their dedication to maintaining security and safety in Dubai. The police praised their team’s professionalism and the taxi driver’s honesty in returning the money promptly.

Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of Dubai Tourist Police in the General Department of Criminal Investigation, confirmed that the tourist police team immediately started working on identifying the taxi. “Within a few minutes, they successfully traced the taxi the tourist had taken to his hotel and then communicated with the driver to return the money pouch,” he continued.

He further clarified that these comprehensive measures were completed within half an hour by the diligent team, who were fully prepared to handle all reports during the New Year’s Eve festivities, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the utmost satisfaction of the community
