For every extra minute delayed, you get AED 1 back for the wait.

Careem is bringing back its popular campaign, ‘Dirhams for Delays,’ that caused quite a buzz last year. Set to run from January 15 to March 10 this year, the food delivery platform’s campaign assures customers a reimbursement of AED 1 for every minute their food order is late.

Jaskaran Singh, VP of Product Management at Careem, emphasizes that the campaign is not just about speed but prioritizes accuracy in providing shared delivery times and estimated arrival times (ETAs). He expresses confidence in Careem’s delivery prediction and tracking technology, asserting it as the best in the market. The primary goal is to assure customers that they can trust Careem to deliver their meals on time, every time.

In essence, ‘Dirhams for Delays’ strives to make the food ordering experience even more reliable for customers, addressing concerns related to punctuality. The campaign’s return signals Careem’s commitment to meeting customer expectations by focusing on precision rather than rushing through deliveries. So, if your meal is fashionably late, you can look forward to a little something back in your pocket – a neat initiative from Careem to keep your dining experience both timely and rewarding.

Driver Safety and Wellbeing at the Forefront

Highlighting the brand’s commitment, he underscores that the safety and wellbeing of drivers take precedence.

“They are unable to view ETA times for orders and are not held accountable for any delays in deliveries. This is simply a testament to our confidence in the efficiency of our service, and we are willing to stand by it,” Singh stated.

In a released statement, Careem outlined measures to enhance the accuracy of orders’ estimated time of arrival (ETA). The delivery platform strategically assigns drivers to orders based on their proximity to the restaurant and delivery location. Additionally, they collaborate with restaurants to ensure timely dispatch of orders.

It’s crucial to note that Careem places no responsibility on drivers for late deliveries. Drivers are not provided with information on order ETAs, and there is a strong emphasis on safe driving. The platform encourages safe driving practices through incentives such as safe driving bonuses. Every week, 20 Captains are recognized and rewarded with monetary incentives for their dedication to road safety measures. Careem remains dedicated to fostering an environment where driver safety and responsible driving are paramount.
