Barbie to hit UAE cinemas earlier than expected; new release date listed

The long awaited movie “Barbie” will be released on August 10 at the Vox and Roxy theaters in the United Arab Emirates. Bookings for tickets have also begun.

The movie received the UAE Media Council’s clearance before getting a new release date.

The movie was originally scheduled to be released on August 31, but after checking on Friday night, Vox and Roxy theaters are now selling tickets beginning on August 10. Other sources have not yet updated their calendars.

Barbie superfans in the UAE couldn’t wait for the movie to premiere with their pink outfits prepared.

The film, in which Margot Robbie plays the star character and Ryan Gosling plays Ken, follows a fantastical trip from Barbie Land, a paradise of flawless pink, to the outside world.

The movie, which was written and directed by Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig, has already made over $800 million at the global box office.
