The Land Cruiser Hybrid debuts in the UAE, blending electrified power with iconic off-road capability for sustainable mobility.

UAE: Al-Futtaim Toyota has unveiled the Land Cruiser Hybrid in the UAE, marking the global debut of the first-ever hybrid model in the legendary Land Cruiser series. This new edition represents a fusion of seven decades of trusted performance with cutting-edge hybrid technology, reinforcing Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility through its multi-pathway approach.

Launched first in the Middle East, the Land Cruiser Hybrid underlines the region’s long-standing bond with the flagship SUV. Designed for rugged terrains and extreme conditions, the new model enhances the Land Cruiser’s core attributes—reliability, durability, and off-road prowess—now with electrified power.

With a powerful 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine paired to a parallel hybrid system, the Land Cruiser Hybrid delivers 457hp and 790Nm torque. This results in a 20% torque boost and 40% better accelerator response over traditional powertrains, offering a more responsive and powerful drive across any terrain. Real-world testing across UAE’s deserts, mountains, and rally-inspired landscapes further proves its capability.

The hybrid system is engineered for resilience. In the rare event of failure, the vehicle continues using its combustion engine. Additionally, the waterproofed hybrid battery maintains the Land Cruiser’s fording capability, ensuring safety even in water obstacles.

The vehicle is available in VXR and GR-S trims. Notable features include Electric Power Steering (EPS) for enhanced manoeuvrability and a 1500W AC inverter for powering outdoor equipment. Cosmetic enhancements include new Hybrid Jet Black bumpers and distinctive hybrid badging.

Jacques Brent, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota & Lexus, shared, “We are extremely excited and honoured to introduce this key milestone of the Land Cruiser to the Emirates… This is only the beginning of our journey with Toyota.”

With the UAE pushing towards its Net Zero 2050 goals, the Land Cruiser Hybrid sets a new benchmark in eco-conscious off-roading. It’s not just a car; it’s Toyota’s promise to lead in sustainable innovation while staying true to its adventurous legacy.
