New data from dubizzle shows UAE car buyers are increasingly prioritising reliability, affordability and long-term ownership costs. Japanese brands, led by Toyota, dominated consumer interest, while vehicles priced below AED 200,000 attracted the strongest demand.

DUBAI: The UAE’s automotive market is witnessing a noticeable shift in consumer behaviour, with buyers placing greater emphasis on value, reliability and long-term ownership rather than premium branding alone. According to the latest marketplace insights from dubizzle, the country’s largest automotive platform, practical vehicles are attracting significantly more attention as motorists carefully evaluate running costs, fuel efficiency and resale value before making purchasing decisions.

The findings are based on vehicle searches conducted during June 2026, comparing buyer activity with the previous month.

The data shows that Japanese car manufacturers continue to dominate consumer interest across the UAE. Collectively, Japanese vehicles attracted more than 9.5 million advertisement views during June, highlighting their strong reputation for dependability, durability and resale value.

Among all manufacturers, Toyota remained the most searched automotive brand, generating more than 3.6 million views and recording the strongest month-on-month growth on the platform.

Other brands that also experienced increased buyer interest included Mitsubishi, Kia, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, although demand was particularly strong for manufacturers known for delivering practical and cost-effective vehicles.

Which vehicle models are attracting buyers?

Several popular Japanese models recorded significant growth in consumer searches.

The Toyota Corolla Cross nearly doubled its month-on-month interest, reflecting growing demand for compact SUVs that combine efficiency with everyday usability. The Toyota Land Cruiser continued to rank among the UAE’s most sought-after vehicles, maintaining its long-standing popularity among families and off-road enthusiasts.

The Mitsubishi Outlander also attracted higher levels of interest, suggesting that buyers continue to favour versatile family SUVs offering comfort, reliability and competitive pricing.

Why are buyers focusing on affordability?

One of the strongest trends identified by dubizzle is the growing preference for affordable and mid-range vehicles.

Cars priced below AED 100,000 generated more than 16.5 million views, making them the fastest-growing price segment on the platform. Demand also remained strong for vehicles priced between AED 100,000 and AED 200,000, indicating that buyers are increasingly balancing budget considerations with long-term value.

According to Sherif Magdy, Sales Director at dubizzle Cars, today’s consumers are taking a more informed approach to vehicle ownership by considering maintenance expenses, fuel economy, reliability and future resale potential alongside the purchase price.

What does this mean for the UAE car market?

With millions of monthly searches across thousands of listings, dubizzle’s marketplace data offers valuable insight into evolving consumer preferences. The latest trends suggest that practicality has become one of the defining factors influencing purchasing decisions, particularly as buyers look to maximise value over the lifetime of their vehicles.

For dealerships and private sellers, the findings reinforce growing demand for dependable family cars and SUVs that offer lower running costs and strong resale performance. For consumers, the data highlights a market increasingly driven by informed decision-making, where reliability and affordability are taking priority over prestige alone.
