UAE sends additional aid to victims, Global Village to donate 5% of entry ticket revenues

UAE: For the 11th day in a row, the UAE is sending more relief assistance to people affected by the earthquakes that struck Syria and Turkiye recently as part of the ‘’Gallant Knight / 2” operation.

The UAE sent 44 cargo planes to Syria loaded with 1,660 tonnes of relief assistance and 34 to Turkiye, carrying 447 tonnes of relief assistance.

The latest aid shipments bring to 78 the total aid flights to both countries, carrying 2,107 tonnes of food and medical supplies and tents.

As part of the operation, the UAE search and rescue teams are strenuously carrying out their missions to search for survivors under the rubble.

Global Village has announced that it will be donating 15% of entry ticket revenues on the day of Virgin Radio’s 15th Birthday Concert. Entry to the concert is included in the purchase of a Global Village ticket with 15% of proceeds going to the Red Crescent Bridges of Giving, UAE relief campaign, in support of those affected by the recent earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye. The donation will apply to all tickets purchased at the gate or online and used on February 19, 2023.

The birthday bash will star headliners RAYE, Tinie Tempah, and Dany Neville. The Virgin Radio Dubai 104.4 hosts will be broadcasting live from 4 pm and will also take to the stage for some special birthday surprises including fireworks. The concert starts at 6 pm on Sunday, February 19 and Global Village looks forward to welcoming guests for an unforgettable evening in aid of this very special cause.
