The Dubai Police made a heartwarming gesture by granting a young Arab girl’s heartfelt wish to have her inmate father present at her wedding. The girl had submitted a request to the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, expressing her desire for her father, who was incarcerated, to witness her marriage to an Arab gentleman.

Under the guidance of Expert His Excellency Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, the department worked diligently to fulfill the girl’s wish. The bride emphasized the importance of her father’s consent and presence during this significant moment in her life.

Brigadier Marwan Jalfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, confirmed the receipt of the girl’s request. The department carefully considered the financial and emotional circumstances surrounding the father’s presence, recognizing his role as the family’s primary breadwinner. In alignment with the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the department promptly approved the request, demonstrating their commitment to humanitarian initiatives and spreading happiness in society.

To further support the bride, the department launched the ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative. This initiative not only facilitated the wedding but also extended assistance in preparing and furnishing the couple’s new home, aiming to create a harmonious environment for the newlyweds while acknowledging its positive impact on the father.

Brigadier Marwan Jalfar expressed gratitude to Sheikh Ahmed Al-Shihi, an authorized Islamic marriage official (Mazoon), for accepting the request to attend and officiate the marriage ceremony. He conveyed best wishes to the couple for their future life together.

Deputy Director Brig Salah Jumaa Bu Asaibah highlighted that the ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative is part of various efforts to ensure the happiness of inmates’ children, particularly in challenging circumstances. He emphasized the initiative’s promotion of values such as tolerance and love in society, extending heartfelt wishes for the couple’s happiness.

The bride, her father, and the groom expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Dubai Police for this initiative that brought immense joy and happiness to their lives.
