Young Student from Sharjah Receives the Prestigious Princess Diana Award

Sharjah: Young student from the United Arab Emirates is honored with The Diana Award for going above and beyond in their daily life to create and sustain positive change. Kanshika Manikandan, aged 9, from Delhi Private School, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates has been recognized with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award.

Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Award is given out by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons, HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Sussex.

Nine-year-old Kanshika is a responsible global citizen who is devoted to making the world a better place. She has been actively involved in multiple causes such as recycling campaigns, clean-up drives, tree planting drives, and raising awareness about environmental conservation and water pollution. She has also made a positive impact on society through various initiatives such as donating her hair to cancer patients, creating breast cancer detection posters, distributing Iftar food packets to laborers, and planting Ghaf trees in the UAE.

Talking to The Brew News, Kanshika said, “I am thankful for this recognition, Diana Award. I am indeed humbled to see that my work has been recognized by a globally reputed institution. This will definitely be a motivation for me to give back more to the society that has nurtured me so lovingly.”

Kanshika’s proud parents expressed their feelings and said “We are indeed very blessed with such a caring and compassionate child and we are very happy that her tireless efforts to make this world a better place has been recognized by a very reputed institution. Thank you Diana Award!”

“It gives me immense satisfaction to see that my sister is no less than one of the most caring and concerned individuals who is very passionate about environment conservation.”- Kanshika’s sister added.
