DUBAI: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has called on citizens and residents across the country to raise the UAE flag above their homes, institutions and buildings, in a message posted on X on April 9, 2026. The call came as Sheikh Mohammed praised the unity and cohesion that defined the UAE’s response to a recent crisis.

In his post, written in Arabic, Sheikh Mohammed described the UAE as having entered the recent crisis united and emerged from it with deeper cohesion, stronger alignment and greater loyalty. He addressed a broad cross-section of society in his message, including citizens and residents, young and old, military and civilian personnel, alongside government and business, describing a collective rallying behind the state flag and national symbols.

Sheikh Mohammed framed the act of raising the flag as a visible expression of loyalty to the country’s leadership and as a unifying signal across neighbourhoods and workplaces. The post also expressed deep pride in the UAE’s President, the Armed Forces, the economy and work teams across the country, with Sheikh Mohammed repeating the word fakhr, meaning proud, multiple times to underscore the depth of his sentiment.
