DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, visited Dubai International Airport to inspect Emirates’ latest addition of the Airbus A350 in its goal for fleet expansion. He was joined by several dignitaries, including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group.

Sheikh Mohammed explored the A350’s innovative features, including its eco-friendly design and next-generation onboard products. The aircraft, which is 70% built from advanced materials, boasts a lighter and more fuel-efficient structure, reducing its carbon footprint. The Emirates A350 accommodates 312 passengers across three classes, with upgraded Business Class lie-flat seats, Premium Economy, and spacious Economy seating.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed discussed Emirates fleet expansion plans and investments aimed at enhancing the passenger experience. He praised the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and the Emirates team for driving the airline’s progress in service quality, comfort, and safety.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the UAE’s commitment to global competitiveness in aviation, recognising the sector as a vital link between global communities. Emirates’ growth aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to expand the city’s global economic reach to over 400 destinations. The A350 will play a pivotal role in this expansion, providing access to previously underserved markets.

Aviation contributes significantly to Dubai’s economy, with Emirates alone generating AED 75 billion in GVA, or 15% of the emirate’s GDP, and supporting 114,000 jobs. The airline’s continued expansion supports Dubai’s ambition to become a top global hub for tourism, commerce, and investment, reinforcing its leadership in the aviation industry.
