Sheikh Hamdan phones Emirati couple injured in mass shooting incident in Prague

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, personally checked on the well-being of Ahmed Ibrahim Obaid Ali Al Ali, Director-General of Umm Al Quwain Municipality, and his wife Rowdah Al Mehrizi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, who were injured in a mass shooting incident in Prague, Czech Republic, on Thursday.
During a phone call with the injured couple, Sheikh Hamdan reassured them that all required measures and resources would be devoted to assisting UAE citizens facing difficult circumstances anywhere in the world and ensuring their well-being.
Sheikh Hamdan also issued directives to all concerned authorities to extend full support and ensure the best care to the injured couple while expressing his heartfelt wishes for their swift recovery and safe return home in the best of health.
Shooting at a university in Prague
A person with a gun hurt many people at a university in Prague. At least 14 people died, and 25 others got injured. This is the worst shooting in the Czech Republic for a long time.
The police chief thinks the person with the gun, a 24-year-old student from Charles University, might have killed himself, but they are not sure yet. They haven’t told us the person’s name because of how badly they got hurt.
The shooting took place at Charles University in the middle of Prague, a place that many tourists like to visit. Some students hid in classrooms to stay safe when the shooting started. A picture on social media shows people hiding outside a building.
The university was open on the day of the shooting, and it was supposed to start Christmas break on December 23. It’s a sad and worrying event that is being investigated by the authorities.
