Dubai: In a three-year deal, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Al-Futtaim Automotive will deploy 360 vehicles, including electric and hybrid models, for use at major conferences and events in Dubai.

RTA’s official mobility partner will also help with the continued development of the authority’s electric charging technology and infrastructure as part of the deal, which supports RTA’s sustainable transportation network and the “Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050” policy.

The agreement was signed in Barcelona on the sidelines of the UITP Global Public Transport Summit by Paul Willis, President of Al-Futtaim Automotive, and Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, in the presence of several senior representatives from each organization.

Al-Futtaim Automotive will provide 360 electric and hybrid cars, buses, and trucks as part of the three-year collaboration deal, comprising 10 electric buses, 250 electric cars, and 100 hybrid cars.

Additionally, Al-Futtaim Automotive will supply the 10 electric charging units with dual-current capability that are required for the essential infrastructure for electric charging. Additionally, the Group will offer technical assistance for fleet-specific operating tasks, electric mobility, and advanced technology use.

Ten electric buses, including Volvo models, will be provided by Al-Futtaim Automotive and each will be integrated with cutting-edge smart systems. There are three different models of the Polestar 2 electric car. The first has a 69 kWh battery with a claimed driving range of 444 km, a 231 horsepower electric motor, and 330 Newton meters of torque.

The second model has a single long-range motor, a bigger 78 kWh battery, and an additional 542 km of electric driving range.

The third iteration has two electric generators, four-wheel drive capabilities, a total power output of 408 horsepower, 660 Newton meters of torque, and a 482 km electric driving range.

The BYD ATTO 3’s interior is a roomy, comfortable SUV with lots of room for passengers’ belongings. The BYD HAN is an electric car with a range of 521 kilometers per charge and a 3.9-second 0 to 100-kilometer acceleration time.

The “seven-dimensional quad-layer” safety matrix that powers the HAN provides the safest battery safety system in the world by maintaining its stability at extreme temperatures.
