His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid highlighted the vital roles of media and cybersecurity during his visit to WGS 2026’s operational centres.

DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the media centre and the operations and cybersecurity centre at the World Governments Summit 2026, currently underway in Dubai.

Accompanied by senior UAE leaders including Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Sheikh Mohammed underscored the importance of media and cybersecurity in shaping future-ready governments. He described media as a strategic partner in delivering accurate messaging and generating positive impact, while emphasising cybersecurity’s role as the “primary line of defence” for protecting data and ensuring business continuity.

During his remarks, Sheikh Mohammed said: “Today, media is not a mere reporter of events, but a driver of impact. Cybersecurity is a guardian of the digital space, with our people standing at the core of complete success.” He added that an integrated system of communication, protection and action builds trust and enables sustainable achievements.

Also present were Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, and Minister Mohammed Al Gergawi, Chairman of the World Governments Summit.

The summit, held under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments,’ features the highest leadership participation in its history, with more than 60 heads of state and over 500 ministers from 150 countries. The event has attracted over 6,250 participants and is covered by more than 840 media outlets worldwide.

Sheikh Mohammed’s visit highlights the UAE’s continued focus on digital security, strategic communication, and leadership in hosting global platforms for dialogue and innovation.
