DUBAI: Dubai Police has announced the launch of the Middle East’s first floating Smart Police Station (SPS), operational by late 2026. Part of a AED 2 billion initiative led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the project aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city.

Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Assets and Facilities at Dubai Police, explained that the floating SPS is tailored for yacht owners, boat enthusiasts, and water sports lovers. Designed to enhance convenience and access, it offers 27 primary services, including filing criminal and traffic reports, and 33 additional services like lost item returns and permit requests. All services are fully automated, available 24/7, and accessible in six languages.

The innovative station will leverage artificial intelligence and robotics to streamline operations, reduce dependency on traditional service centres, and improve efficiency. The design ensures seamless access for users arriving by boat, with features making boarding and disembarking fast and easy.

The floating SPS represents the fourth edition of Dubai Police’s Smart Police Stations, which already include Drive-Thru and Walk-In stations. These initiatives aim to enhance security, improve quality of life, and deliver exceptional, technology-driven services to the community.

In addition to smart policing, the AED 2 billion strategic projects encompass investments in specialised police training and housing developments to boost employee wellbeing and family stability.

The floating SPS police station underscores Dubai’s commitment to innovation and excellence, reinforcing its status as a global leader in smart city development while ensuring the happiness and safety of its residents and visitors.
