DUBAI: Dubai Airports has initiated a comprehensive operational plan at Dubai International (DXB) to streamline the travel process for pilgrims embarking on Hajj 2025. The annual pilgrimage season is among the busiest periods at the airport, and authorities aim to ensure every pilgrim enjoys a smooth and respectful journey.

This year, DXB will facilitate the departure of around 3,100 pilgrims through 28 dedicated flights managed by Emirates, flydubai, Saudia, and flynas. The Government of Dubai’s official delegation will travel on the first designated Hajj flight from Terminal 3 on 1st June.

The initiative reflects Dubai Airports’ ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience, especially during high-traffic religious and holiday periods. A range of support measures has been rolled out in partnership with the oneDXB community, which includes Dubai Police, the GDRFA, Dubai Customs, dnata, and other key stakeholders.

Pilgrims will benefit from exclusive check-in counters at Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Facilities for Ihram preparation, including prayer rooms and changing areas, have been made available across the terminals. Additionally, multilingual Guest Experience Ambassadors and Hajj Committee support desks will offer guidance, while special baggage belts are allocated for the safe handling of Zamzam water.

Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports, stated, “Through the efforts of our people and the oneDXB community, we want to ensure every pilgrim departs with confidence and returns with ease.”

Pilgrims are urged to arrive at least four hours before departure and ensure they carry essential documents like their passport, Emirates ID, Hajj permit, and vaccination records.

The return of pilgrims is expected between 9th and 12th June. Dubai Airports has arranged a coordinated reception process, including efficient baggage handling and a small token of appreciation upon arrival.

The Hajj period coincides with Eid Al Adha and the peak of summer travel, with DXB anticipating heightened passenger volumes throughout.
