On Monday in Jeddah, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey test-drove an electric vehicle.

Erdogan gave the royal family of Saudi Arabia two electric vehicles built in Turkey.

According to reports from the press, the two leaders tested the Togg model, which is the nation’s first electric car brand, in the courtyard of the Al Salam Royal Palace in Jeddah.

Erdogan, who is on a three-day tour of the Gulf area, began his trip in Saudi Arabia, where he was welcomed with an official reception.

According to reports from the Saudi press, both nations signed agreements for a number of industries, including the investment and defense sectors.

“Turkey will have a serious investment opportunity in the defence industry, infrastructure and superstructure investments in the three countries,” he told reporters, adding, “these countries will have the opportunity to purchase certain assets from Turkey.”

Erdogan will now visit Qatar, according to the Qatari envoy to Turkey, in an effort to increase bilateral cooperation.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani told the news agency, “This visit is an important indicator of the solid relations that bind Turkey and Qatar.”

During the last leg of his Gulf journey, Erdogan is expected to speak with President Sheikh Mohamed in Abu Dhabi.
