Makkah: The Municipality of Makkah is diligently preparing for the upcoming 1445 Hajj season, focusing on ensuring the safety and comfort of the millions of pilgrims expected to visit the Kingdom, as reported by agencies.

A comprehensive plan has been devised, mobilizing a workforce of 22,000 individuals, including administrators, engineers, technicians, sanitation workers, and support teams from various sectors. Additionally, hundreds of security personnel, volunteers, and temporary healthcare staff will be deployed to enhance services further.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technology is a key aspect of the municipality’s strategy. A fleet of specialized machinery, including advanced sanitation vehicles, has been deployed to manage waste effectively. Thirteen sub-municipalities and service centers across the holy sites will be equipped to address any arising needs.

Maintaining a clean and healthy environment is a top priority, with a 24-hour cleaning regime implemented in high-density areas. Food safety measures are also stringent, with dedicated teams monitoring markets and catering services round the clock.

The municipality coordinates closely with permanent committees overseeing pilgrims’ residences, building safety, behavior near the Grand Mosque, and encroachment removal.

Seven slaughterhouses operate at high capacity, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards for the Kingdom’s Hady and Adahi Project. Extensive infrastructure, including roads, tunnels, bridges, and drainage networks, is meticulously monitored and maintained.

Public facilities are continuously serviced to meet high standards, with dedicated technical teams responding swiftly to any issues. An emergency unit equipped to handle potential incidents operates 24/7, working closely with relevant authorities.

The comprehensive plan underscores Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to serving pilgrims, combining extensive resources and cutting-edge technology to create a safe and enriching Hajj experience.
