On Tuesday morning, a big earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 hit Davao Occidental in the Philippines and nearby places.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the earthquake’s center was in the sea near Davao Occidental, about 183 kilometers southeast of Balut Island, Sarangani, at 4:48 am.
It happened quite deep, about 94 kilometers below the surface. Luckily, there’s no need to worry about a tsunami, as Phivolcs didn’t raise any alert for that.
